ATTENTION JOHNNY WEIR FANS!!!!
Johnny Weir is competing on the current season of 'Dancing With the Stars'. He is partnered with first year professional dancer Britt Stewart.
Tomorrow November 2nd is actually Week Eight of the competition. The competition is down to nine teams, and Johnny and Britt are one of those teams.
I should have been blogging Johnny's appearance on the show week by week, but it did not occur to me I could type posts up via my phone. Honestly I have no clue how to add files, etc from my phone. Therefore this post will be fairly simple.
A couple seasons ago 'Dancing With the Stars' changed the rules for judging and audience voting. The television viewing audience can now only vote during the original broadcast, which begins at 8 pm EST/7 pm CST. Audience voting ends during the show's last commercial break. What this means is that anyone west of the Central Time Zone has to vote for the current week's dancers before they actually get to see the dances. The elimination occurs at the end of the Monday broadcast. This means people in the Mountain, Pacific, Alaska and Hawaii time zones either vote for their favorite before they see the dances, or they were don't vote at all. It takes a lot of long time fans of DWTS who might have voted by the dances they like out of the loop and has given more ability to affect the results to whatever 'star' has the most fans, regardless of how well or poorly they dance. Supposedly preventing such a thing from happening is why the changes were made in the first place.
Whatever you think of the changes in judging, Johnny Weir needs our help to remain in the competition. Week eight will see a double elimination, and each couple will dance twice. Adjustments to the second dance have been made due to the need for social distancing due to the pandemic.
Viewers are able to vote up to ten times via text, and another ten times via the ABC DWTS website Monday evening, beginning at 8 pm EST/7 pm CST (6 pm MST, 5 pm PST, and adjust for Alaska and Hawaii time).

The ABC network has an official channel on YouTube. Each week's dances are uploaded individually on YouTube the evening of the show. In addition, if you have access to HULU, the weekly episode of DWTS is posted for streaming approximately twenty four hours after the original broadcast. In addition, HULU also posts individual dance segments in the extras for the show. This is in addition to the regular Monday night broadcast of 'Dancing With the Stars' on ABC 8 E/7 C.
In addition I am Admin for a Facebook page called Weirlandia where official videos of all of Johnny and Britt's dances as well as other videos and articles about the competition are posted. The page can be accessed here:
